This film is one of the first to assess the situation of the Tadjikistan after the end of communism and a terrible civil war. In a reviving state, thanks to the support of international organizations, women who are today in a large majority, are confronted with misery and violence. Faced with all this problems, women associations struggle for the respects of their rights and a political representation. But rapes and suicides of protest - by setting fire to oneself - are still very numerous.
